The Studio

I curate interiors that grow more interesting with time. I don't follow trends. I focus on proportion, materiality and thoughtful sourcing.

I'm Lauren, founder of Epoch & Co., a British former fashion buyer turned interior curator, based in Amsterdam. The studio was shaped through the renovation of my own 17th-century canal house, an experience that continues to shape how I think about time, value and the decisions that make a home.

Thirteen years in fashion buying brought a particular discipline to this work. A buyer is trained to edit ruthlessly: to assess quality at speed, to build collections where every piece earns its place, and to balance investment with resourcefulness across a budget. That instinct translates directly to sourcing a home.

I've also been the client. I moved to Amsterdam as an expat, renovated in a city I was still learning, and made significant decisions with my own money. I know what that process feels like from the inside.

I know Amsterdam, its architecture, its suppliers, its trades, and the particular challenges of shaping a home in a city where so much of the housing stock is historic and full of character waiting to be drawn out. I work across Europe and beyond, with clients navigating relocations, new rentals and longer-term homes.

How I Work

Understanding the brief

Every project begins with understanding how you live and how you want your home to feel. From there, I establish a clear design direction that guides all sourcing and material decisions.

Setting direction

Rather than presenting endless options, I curate with intent. Fewer, stronger choices lead to better outcomes and more confident decisions.

Sourcing and refinement

Interiors take time, and progress is not always visible week to week. Research, supplier communication and coordination happen behind the scenes to ensure each element feels considered and right for both the space and the brief.

There are no fixed packages here. Every project is different, so my work is tailored to yours and billed on a time basis, which keeps things flexible as things develop.

Ways to Work With Me

Design Direction & Sourcing Support

For clients who want creative direction and thoughtful sourcing without the commitment of a traditional full-service interior designer. This is the most common way people work with me.

·Brief refinement and design direction

·Mood boards and visual references

·Furniture, lighting and object sourcing

·Materials and finishes guidance

·Supplier research and trade liaison

·Ongoing decision support

Room-by-Room Curation

For clients furnishing or refining specific spaces within their home. I focus deeply on individual rooms, making sure each one feels cohesive while sitting naturally within the wider home. This works well for renovations, phased projects, or if you simply prefer to take things one room at a time.

One-Off Consultations & Focused Sourcing

Sometimes you just need a helping hand with something specific. Whether it's sourcing a particular piece, a second opinion on a layout or finish, or a one-off conversation to give you clarity before moving forward on your own.

Working Together

Pricing

Projects are billed at €120 per hour, exclusive of VAT. At the start, I'll give you a sense of the time involved so there are no surprises, and we review scope together as things progress.

Sourcing is detailed, considered work. The hourly model means you only pay for what's done, and it gives us both the flexibility to adapt as the project takes shape.

Collaboration

The best results come from working together. I love it when clients are engaged and open to the process. My role is to bring structure, direction and a calm sense of judgement, while you stay involved in the decisions that shape your home.

If you value a considered approach and enjoy being part of the process, I think we'd work well together.
